Synopsis

From humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her triumphant transformation against all odds into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them.

Set to the pulse-pounding soundtrack of her much-loved hits, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is written by Olivier Award and Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd.

Presented in association with Tina Turner herself, TINA is an exhilarating celebration of the artist you know and love. One of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, Tina Turner has won 12 Grammy Awards and her live shows have been seen by millions, selling more concert tickets than any other solo performer in music history.

Bars and facilities will be open 45 minutes before the performance, with the auditorium normally opening 30 minutes before the show begins.

In January 2011 Karis joined the girl band Stooshe and after a year in development they broke on to the UK music scene with the release of their first pop single, Love Me, featuring American rapper Travie McCoy. Stooshe achieved rapid success with their monster song, ‘Black Heart’ spending over 16 weeks in the Official UK Charts peaking at number 2 and receiving a nomination for “Best British single” at the 2013 Brit Awards, up against some of the biggest names in the industry such as Adele.

They went on to tour with female super houses such as J-Lo and Nicki Minaj and made various TV appearances including The Jonathon Ross show & Top of the Pops.

Karis is delighted & humbled to be taking on the role of Tina in the West End. She would like to thank her wonderful partner, parents & agents Keddie Scott Associates for the continued love and support.

At sixteen years old, Zoe became the winning female contestant of ITV’s original series of Pop Idol (2002). Her video Get Happy went straight in at number one and she signed a record deal with Simon Fuller’s 19 Management. Zoe went on to perform to over 250,000 fans on two national sell out arena tours and sang five hits on the Pop Idol Big Band album which reached number one in the album chart and went triple platinum. She has performed for The Royal Family on several occasions, including The Queen’s VE Day Celebration and a concert inside Buckingham Palace, as well as other high profile events including at The Royal Albert Hall.

Theatre credits include: Pippa in the World premiere of Roald Dahl’s The Witches (National Theatre), Kim in The Great British Bake off Musical (Noel Coward Theatre); Arabia and Satine in the original cast of Moulin Rouge for which she won the award for Best Supporting Performer in a Musical 2023 (Piccadilly Theatre), Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard Musical for which she was nominated for Best Actress; Diva in the original cast of Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Palace Theatre); Acid Queen (Tina Turner) in The Who’s Tommy (Prince Edward Theatre); Female Lead in What A Feeling (London Palladium), Female Lead in Thriller Live (Lyric Theatre & International venues across the world including Brazil, South Africa and Europe); Female Lead in Respect La Diva (Garrick Theatre); Dion in Hair (West End & Munich); and Justice in Rock of Ages (UK Tour).

She has presented for the Top of the Pops Awards, CD:UK, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The UK Theatre Awards 2023, and she has hosted various high profile events including a Las Vegas ballroom show at The Golden Nugget.

She is also the author of a children’s book My Favourite is Bathtime, which she wrote for her daughter.

She has worked at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Regents Park Open Air Theatre, and regionally in UK theatres, and is also a Voice Over Artist.

As a solo artist Joey has supported Faith Evans on her UK tour, performed at Indigo Arena and revisited venues up and down the country.
