Synopsis

Following a record-breaking season on Broadway last year, the "ultimate Christmas show" (Smooth FM) returns to spread festive cheer for 10 weeks only from 28 October 2025 to 3 January 2026.

Based on the beloved film, Elf is the funny and charming tale of Buddy, who mistakenly crawled into Santa’s bag as a baby and was raised as an elf!

Way too tall and not so great at his job, Buddy is the North Pole’s biggest misfit… and knows he’ll never belong. When Santa tells him the truth, Buddy heads to New York to find his birth father (who turns out to be quite high on the naughty list).

After causing some merry mayhem in Manhattan, Buddy finally discovers the gift of family and falls in love. And when Santa’s sleigh crashes in Central Park, it’s Buddy who finds a way to save Christmas forever!

It’s “wow, wow, wow…absolutely brilliant!” (Heart Radio) and “full to the brim with Christmas spirit” (Classic FM), so if smiling’s your favourite, don’t miss this seasonal smash-hit at the Aldwych Theatre.

Elf The Musical 6
Aled Jones MBE

Walter Hobbs

Aled Jones MBE has had an extraordinary career over the past four decades.  He is the original crossover star, has sung for the Pope and the Royal Family, has received an MBE, released over 40 albums, with over 10 million album sales and has over 40 Silver, Gold and Platinum Discs.

After beginning his career at the age of 12, Aled became one of the world’s most successful boy sopranos, releasing 12 hit albums in 4 years with the defining moment being ‘Walking in the Air’, the hit song from the animated film The Snowman.  Aled is also the first classical artist to have 2 albums in the Top 5 of the Official Album Charts.

Aled has also forged an extensive career as a TV & Radio presenter, with his own shows across BBC Radio 2 & 3 and BBC Radio Wales. He hosts the most listened to show on Sunday on Classic FM and has been a firm favourite presenting BBC1 Songs Of Praise for over 20 years.

Aled continues to record and perform alongside his radio and TV career.  One Voice reached no.3 position in the UK Official Album Chart  – selling more units in the first week of sales than former One Direction’s Zayn Malik and held the no.1 spot on the Classical Chart for 14 weeks – gaining silver BPI status.

Later that year One Voice at Christmas shot to no.1 in the Classical Chart, making One Voice and One Voice At Christmas the 2 top selling classical albums of 2016 in the UK.

The release of One Voice in Australia in 2017 saw him secure a No 1 and was followed up later in the year with an Australian Tour where Aled secured another top spot in the Australian charts with One Voice At Christmas.  Aled rounded off 2017 with the final installment of his One Voice album trilogy – One Voice: Believe, going straight to No 1 in the Classical Charts back at home in the UK.

One Voice: Believe was a collection of spiritual classics and saw Aled duetting with his younger self – man and boy, but also featured a few special surprises: for the very first time, the Classic FM presenter was joined by his 12-year-old son. An incredibly tender and heartfelt rendition of ‘The Lord Is My Shepherd’ brought this beautiful trilogy to a stunning finale.

Aled teamed up with Russell Watson in 2018 and released a stunning new album together, In Harmony which entered the UK album charts at No 8 and was the biggest selling classical album of 2018 achieving Gold status in 2019 and again holding the No1 topspot in the Classical Charts.

The duo followed this up with their new studio album, Back In Harmony, which shot to No.6 in the UK Album Charts as well as No.1 in the UK Classical Charts for three consecutive weeks. Aled and Russell embarked on a major UK tour in Autumn 2019 which included a sold out show at the London Palladium.

Aled personally took charge of his 40th studio album to curate and bring together the narrative for Blessings, one that would reinforce the strength of music in bringing people together.  The book of Blessings written by Aled also complimented the album beautifully and was a worldwide success.

Blessings, the album touched on a range of faiths and beliefs – through a range of uplifting hymns, texts and scriptures set to music and featuring Dame Judi Dench, Sami Yusef amongst others and Aled was back on the road again touring the UK’s most stunning cathedrals.

2022 saw Aled starring on ITV’s hit show The Masked Singer as “Traffic Cone” which he found tremendous fun exploring avenues of music he never thought he would sing and who was loved so much he appeared in the following season’s show and again on ITV in December 2023.

‘Christmas with Aled & Russell’ shot up the UK charts with it’s release in December 2022 and claimed No1 on the UK’s Classical charts.  The duo extensively toured their Christmas shows around UK.

2023 began with Aled signing an album deal with Decca – going Full Circle with a new album which was released at enjoyed the No1 position for over a month and then toured in Spring 2024.

This last has seen The Full Circle Tour reaching parts of the United Kingdom never visited by Aled before with well over 100 dates.  Aled enjoyed sharing his collection of beautiful untold stories and photographs and plans are well underway for the tour to travel abroad.   Alongside his Classic FM show and BBC1 Songs of Praise, Aled is set to release another book and barely has a day off  – but he wouldn’t have it any other way!
