Synopsis
This is an unmissable chance to hear from a pioneer who has shaped our understanding of evolutionary biology more than any other living scientist.

The creator of the word ‘meme’ and of the hugely influential ‘selfish gene’ model of evolution, Richard Dawkins is the epitome of the truly public intellectual – a scientist whose ideas have proven extraordinarily influential both within his own discipline and far beyond.
Richard returns to How To Academy to share incisive Darwinian insights that reveal fundamental truths behind even the most unfathomable animal behaviours. In an evening rich with wonder, we will discover why fish gallop, why evolution gave the rhinoceros its horn, the surprising similarities between horses and lizards, and why hummingbirds glow in such brilliant hues.
This live, In Conversation event will be lavishly illustrated with artwork by the legendary naturalist Ernst Haeckel, whose stunning depictions of plants, sea creatures and other animals have fascinated Dawkins all his life.
“My eyes are constantly wide open to the extraordinary fact of existence… That’s never far from my thoughts, that sense of amazement.” – Richard Dawkins
Every ticket to this live event includes a copy of Richard’s new book, 42 Tales from Life (RRP £30).
